Mother’s Day Remembered

Posted in Uncategorized

This year for me Mother’s Day will be very different. Since her transition in March, my mother is no longer present. But her spirit is still with us as we remember her story, her wisdom and her grace. She was known as “Lady” since childhood.

She was the much loved matriarch in our family  and she took great pride in her role as a mother of nine children, a grandmother and a great grandmother.

This US/German passport photo of her with 8 of her 9 children was a treasure to find and it launched great conversations and creativity for me that I have created a whole body of work from her stories.

She has been one of my greatest supporters of my artwork. Because as a Mother she too creates a body of work—her children!
